For three days, around 1,000 small plates and soba cups from Arita, Mikawachi and Hasami\u2014three pottery-producing areas with more than 400 years of history\u2014come together in one place. Visitors can pick up the pieces and compare the distinctive techniques, patterns and design traditions developed in each region.<\/p>\n

Under the theme \u201cTradition and Today,\u201d the event features displays of ceramic works alongside contemporary table settings created by three table coordinators, each using wares from one of the three production areas. The exhibits range from practical tableware for everyday use to pieces that highlight distinctive techniques and decorative styles.<\/p>\n

The stage program includes talks by ceramic artists and specialists, including Kakiemon Sakaida XV and Yukio Suzuta, director of the Kyushu Ceramic Museum. Other highlights
\ninclude collaborations between popular chefs and ceramic ware, sake and local sweets from Saga and Nagasaki, and performances by musicians with ties to Kyushu. The program offers visitors a chance to experience the culture surrounding the ceramics through food and music as well as viewing and shopping.<\/p>\n

Related excursions to the three pottery-producing areas are also planned, including a charter train and day bus tours.<\/p>\n
