Taking place from Sep 21 to 23, it marks the season with rites of gratitude for divine blessings, following spring prayers for a bountiful harvest, and brings together traditional ceremonies, processions, food, live performances and fireworks.

The main highlight is the Goshinko Procession, a colorful spectacle reminiscent of an imperial court procession. At 12:00 on Sep 21, the procession travels from the shrine to Miyajihama, while at 13:00 on Sep 23, it makes the return journey from Miyajihama to the shrine. The festival’s ceremonial Saio, dressed in a twelve-layered junihitoe robe, proceeds along the roughly 2 km route with mikoshi, shrine priests and court officials.

Around 80 kitchen cars and market stalls gather during the three-day festival, alongside children’s dance performances and live music. On Sep 22 at 20:00, the Negai Kanae! Good Luck Fireworks Festival lights up the autumn night sky with around 1,000 fireworks launched with wishes and prayers in mind.

Sep. 21, 2026 (Mon, hol) ~ Sep. 23, 2026 (Wed, hol)

13:00~ (Fireworks Festival on Sep. 22 starts at 20:00)

Miyajidake Shrine

7-1 Miyajimotomachi, Fukutsu City, Fukuoka

Website

Held for around 700 years, the Autumn Grand Festival is the largest annual festival at Miyajidake Shrine.
