Sculptors from Japan and overseas create the works using only white sand and water. Visitors can get a close look at the intricate details of these large-scale creations.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme is \u201cBeyond Time and Space: A Journey Around the World\u2014A Soccer Kingdom Made of Sand.\u201d After sunset, illumination gives the sculptures a different character. Sound and light shows take place at 19:00 and 20:00 on weekdays.
