Then you need some elephant poop! Fukuoka Zoo is making <em>omamori<\/em> (good luck charms) from the feces of Hanako, one of the zoo\u2019s best-loved elephants. The <em>omamori<\/em> are inspired by a play on words, as \u904b means \u201cluck\u201d and \u3046\u3093 (short for \u3046\u3093\u3061) translates as \u201cdung\u201d. The five-sided shape of the <em>omamori<\/em> is also a linguistic rib-tickler, since \u4e94\u89d2 (<em>gokaku<\/em>, \u201cpentagonal\u201d) sounds like \u5408\u683c (<em>goukaku<\/em> \u201cpass\u201d). So students who are facing the fiery hell of exam season should get down to Fukuoka Zoo early to make sure they get their mits on one of the 600 <em>omamori<\/em>. The charms will be divided and distributed in four sessions: on Jan. 29, there will be 100 <em>omamori<\/em> given out at 9:30, and again at 13:30; on Jan. 30, there will be 200 <em>omamori<\/em> given out at 9:30, and the same again at 13:30.
