It has been popular for centuries for use in kimono and obi as a silk textile due to its tensility and thickness of the fabric. At this annual event, new pieces of Hakata ori are displayed inside Jotenji. The location itself is a reason worth visiting &#8211; Jotenji is usually not open for the public to see inside the temple. Enjoy the autumn foliage, and optional tea ceremony (fee req.) in the Japanese Karesansui garden.
