<\/a><\/p>\n\u2022 4\/4 (Thu.) ~ 8 (Mon.) : live drawing and display \u2013\u2013\u2013\u2013\u2013 Hailing from Utrecht (Netherlands), Leon Keer is an accomplished mural artist, but is perhaps best known for his 3D chalk street art. Since 2007, Keer has travelled the world creating unique contemporary 3D chalk images on the sidewalks of major cities, much to the delight of passerby pedestrians. This week, Leon comes to Fukuoka, to transform the sidewalk outside of Iwataya Building (Tenjin) into a piece of temporary street art. You can watch him create the artwork from Thursday Apr. 4 to Sunday Apr. 7, and the finished piece will be on display from Monday Apr.8 to Tuesday Apr. 9. Note: Kirameki-dori Ave. (the road that runs betwee the two Iwataya Buildings) will be closed to traffic between 12:00~18:00 on Apr. 6 (Sat.) and 7 (Sun.) There will also be many street events during the period, such as accordion and grand piano busking, and juggling displays! \nBio: <\/strong>Leon Keer (1970) learned to paint through designing and producing large advertising murals for multinationals such as Coca-Cola, Schweppes, Heineken, Red Bull, Reef, Evian, Royal Club, Remy Martin and Absolut Vodka. He has executed commissions in the Netherlands, Germany, France, The United States, The United Arabic Emirates and Australia. His knowledge of materials, acquired by painting on all kinds of foundations for his clients, led to an interest in experimenting with materials and techniques. During his career he often presented his art by live-action-painting performances. His ability of performing as a street painter, lets him share the joy of painting with the public. Chalking directly on the streets started in 2007 when Leon Keer was invited to participate an international street painting event in Utrecht, The Netherlands. A good learning lane next to some of the most experienced street painters at that time. Another road of experimenting was born. As well as an individual street painter and as the art-director of Planet Streetpainting he was responsible for several contemporary street paintings in the Netherlands and even more often abroad.
