Here are some details on the various events taking place at the festival.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.fukuoka-now.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/07-Miyajidake-Iris-Fest-e1461548316401.jpg?resize=640%2C427\" alt=\"07 - Miyajidake Iris Fest\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-86351\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Edo Shobu Hatsukari Shinji <\/strong><br \/>\nAt 10:00 on May 31 (Tue.), white-clad Shinto priests harvest irises, which the <em>miko<\/em> (shrine maidens) then hold during a sacred dance. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Stage Performances<\/strong><br \/>\nThe stage performances and concerts include the Fukutsu Wind Orchestra on May 29 (Sun.) at 15:45, Women\u2019s Chorus on Jun. 4 (Sat.) at 13:35, and belly dance performances on Jun. 12 (Sun.) at 14:30 and 15:30. You can also join in a country dance workshop on Jun. 4 (Sat.) at 12:40. <\/p>\n<p>Concert Schedule (please consult flyer for full details):<br \/>\n5\/29 (Sun.): 10:30~, 14:40~, 15:10~, 15:45~<br \/>\n6\/4 (Sat.): 10:30~, 11:00~, 12:05~, 12:40~, 13:35~, 14:40~<br \/>\n6\/5 (Sun.): 10:30~, 11:05~, 11:45~, 12:25~, 14:05~, 15:20~<br \/>\n6\/11 (Sat.): 10:30~, 11:00~, 11:25~, 11:50~, 12:30~, 13:15~, 13:50~, 14:25~, 15:00~, 15:35~<br \/>\n6\/12 (Sun.): 10:30~, 11:00~, 11:35~, 12:15~, 13:55~, 14:30~, 15:00~, 15:30~ <\/p>\n<p><strong>Gourmet Fair<\/strong><br \/>\nFrom Jun. 3 (Fri.) to Jun. 5 (Sun.), 10:00~17:00, gourmet food trucks and booths will be set up, serving delicious food from all over Kyushu. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Crafts Market<\/strong><br \/>\nThroughout the event (May 28 to Jun. 12), various vendors will sell a wide variety of objects from across Kyushu. These vendors are set up in five different areas:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Glassware and ceramics<\/strong><br \/>\nPeruse glassware, including cute glass figurines of shaped like animals, and Karatsuyaki (ceramics from Karatsu) &#8211; pick up a new vase, sake cup or coffee server. In this area there will also be a curry stall and a gelateria from Aso. <\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Clothing and crafts<\/strong><br \/>\nBuy clothes and scarves dyed using natural colors extracted from plants. Browse secondhand <em>kimono<\/em> and <em>kimono<\/em> accessories, and traditional crafts such as <em>ikkanbari<\/em> (bamboo baskets wrapped in Japanese paper and colored with sour persimmon).<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Artisans\u2019 works<\/strong><br \/>\nBrowse Hakata ceramic bells in all the colors of the rainbow; these are considered a talisman (hang it by your doorway) and each unique bell makes a slightly different sound! There are also fabric accessories, such as brooches and phone charms, homemade snacks and more. <\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Lifestyle goods<\/strong><br \/>\nPurchase postcards with hand-drawn illustrations, colored paper and handmade bamboo crafts (cheaper than you might find elsewhere). There will also be craft demonstrations in this section. <\/p>\n<p><strong>5.
