Unknown during his time, Takashima Yajuro (1890~1975) was a Japanese oil painter from Kurume, Fukuoka. The painter and his works only rose to fame five years after his death, after one of his paintings was exhibited in 1980. The exhibition will include representative works such as \u2018Candles\u2019 and \u2018Moon\u2019, paintings that have yet to be showcased in Japan, and some of Yajuro\u2019s valuable documents, including notes, letters and sketches from his days as a student.
