The third annual LGBT parade in Kyushu is taking place on Nov. 6 (Sun.) as part of Kyushu Rainbow Pride 2016! The parade will start and finish at Reisen Park. Like last year, the parade will celebrate diversity and offer the LGBT community an opportunity to express themselves openly. The theme of Kyushu Rainbow Pride 2016 is \u201cWe are what we are!\u201d and this year the event will be bigger than ever. \u201cRainbow Week\u201d will last over a month (Oct. 1 to Nov. 13), with different events taking place throughout Kyushu (Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Saga, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima). <\/p>\n

On the day of the parade, a stage will be set up in Reisen Park; performances will include music and dance performances by LGBT groups, an onstage discussion about LGBT issues, a same-sex wedding and speeches by local celebrities. <\/p>\n

30 booths will be set up in the park: some by LGBT organisations and groups, some will be run by companies supporting Kyushu Rainbow Pride, and others will sell food, drinks and various goods. <\/p>\n

The capacity of this year\u2019s parade will be 500, the largest ever. Various performers will also march in the parade – including colorfully dressed drag queens. The parade, led by a fabulous float, will last approximately one hour. <\/p>\n
