The festival celebrates the creation of new sake, and centers around the traditional ceremony in which the shop\u2019s sugidama (cedar balls) are changed. This takes place to notify the public that the shinshu (freshly brewed sake) is ready. This event is exceptionally popular and you can join in by buying a specially made sake glass.
