In Fukuoka, there are public pools operated by the local government that anyone can use for a reasonable fee. Whether it’s a rainy day, a cold day, or a hot day when you want to swim without worrying about the sun, indoor pools are incredibly convenient. The water temperature is maintained at a comfortable level throughout the year, and most facilities offer parking, showers, and coin lockers. Since rental services are not available, be sure to bring your own swimsuit and swim cap.

\n\u2022 Please refrain from visiting the facility if you’re experiencing symptoms like fever.

Before you visit, remember to pack the essentials as rentals are not available. You’ll need a swimsuit, swimming cap, goggles, towels if required, and a bag for your shoes.

\n1) Infants under the age of 1 are not allowed to swim.
\n2) Please don’t bring makeup, hairdressing products, mobile phones, cameras, watches, or books to the pool.
\n3) Taking photos within the pool area is strictly prohibited.
\n4) Electronic devices, even those that are waterproof, are not allowed in the pool.
\n5) The use of soap and shampoo in the shower room is not permitted.

After a year of renovation, the Comprehensive Nishi Civic Pool Complex reopened in June 2021. It features both 25-meter and 50-meter pools with depths ranging from around 1 meter to over 3 meters, making it the largest and most user-friendly facility in the city.
