On the tiered display, alongside the dolls, miniature furnishings modeled after bridal trousseau items are arranged, reflecting the hopes and wishes entrusted by families.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s exhibition places special focus on the dolls and their accompanying implements, introducing the meaning and role of each element. Hina dolls that have been carefully displayed in Hakata households are presented together with a recreated tiered arrangement set in the tatami rooms of a traditional machiya <\/em>townhouse.<\/p>\n

Yanagawa Hina Matsuri Sagemon Meguri<\/strong> (Yanagawa City)<\/h3>\n

In Yanagawa, a canal town long known as a \u201ccity of water,\u201d the hina<\/em> festival is symbolized by sagemon<\/em>, traditional hanging decorations gifted to girls to celebrate their first Hina Matsuri. During the festival period, sagemon<\/em> and hina<\/em> dolls are displayed throughout the town, including at tourist facilities, shopping streets, and historic buildings.<\/p>\n

The displays are spread across different districts, making it easy to enjoy them while strolling through the town. This walk-and-discover style of viewing hina decorations is a defining feature of Yanagawa\u2019s festival atmosphere.<\/p>\n
