Hakata Akihaku Photo Contest<\/strong><br \/>\nThink of yourself as a budding photographer? Snap photos at any Akihaku 2015 event and submit them to the official \u201cAutumn in Hakata\u201d photo contest. All camera formats accepted, including photographs taken by mobile phones or even tablets. Winners will be announced at the end of Jan. 2016 in the Nishinippon Shimbun and Hakata Ward website, with gift certificates for the top 10 photographs! The first prize is a gift certificate valued at \u00a530,000, second~fourth prizes are \u00a510,000 each, and fifth~tenth prizes are \u00a53,000 each. Limit of three photos per person, and all submissions must arrive by 11 Dec. 2015 (Fri.). The Hakata Tomyo Watching festival started in 1994, inspired from a traditional ceremony called Sentomyo that is held at temples and shrines in Fukuoka and Oita in which 1,000 paper lanterns are lit up. Hakata Kenjo Dochu<\/strong><br \/>\nCrowds gather at this annual autumn event to watch the parade of women in traditional <em>kimono<\/em>.
