Until Nov. 27, thirteen shrines and temples near Hakata Station will be spectacularly illuminated every evening between 17:30 and 21:00, allowing you to see the temples in, quite literally, a new light.<\/p>\n

\nThe main hall of Touchouji Temple<\/em><\/p>\n

The temples are all within walking distance of each other, meaning that, if you get your skates on, you can see all in one night. However, we suggest a more relaxed approach to take in the unique atmosphere of each location.<\/p>\n

\nTorii at Kushida Jinja Shrine<\/em><\/p>\n

To see the illuminations, you need to buy a ticket book from a participating venue, or one of the official ticket vendors (see below.) The ticket book will give you access to each of the light-up locations (one ticket per location).<\/p>\n

You will also be given an official program and map with your ticket book that suggests fastest routes between the temples. It\u2019s all in Japanese, but the map should be understandable to anyone. If you\u2019re struggling to find a temple, be sure to get help from one of the many staff working at each temple.<\/p>\n

The temples are all open until 21:00 but last entry to each is at 20:45, so be sure to plan your route around the temples! The light up only continues until Sunday, 27 Nov., so be sure to go ASAP!<\/p>\n
