The high quality 4K four-by-seven meter OLED display panel will be made by the Korean electronics manufacturers LG and start operating from April 2 next year. The upper section of the screen will be curved, which will serve to help immerse the viewer into what is being displayed. The system will also be equipped with technology that can distinguish the age and sex of the person viewing the advertisement. JR Kyushu claims that the device will cost just ¥100 million to install. Using the entire advertising space (which includes the large display and 64 small liquid crystal panels) for one week will fall in the region of ¥6 million. Source: Sankei Shimbun, 11/27/2017

Photo: JR Kyushu Agency

Disclaimer: Fukuoka Now posts summaries of Kyushu area related news for the benefit of those who cannot read Japanese.
