Winners of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s National Wheelchair Basketball Competition will also be awarded both trophies, while the Emperor\u2019s Cup will be given to the victors of the National Wheelchair Ekiden (long distance relay race). The Imperial Household Agency presents the Emperor\u2019s Cup to the winner of 20 sporting contests and the Empress&#8217;s Cup to the champions of 12 competitions. The tournaments are chosen according to their size, history, and popularity.
