<\/p>\nJapan Meteorological Corporation\u2019s (JMC) second sakura forecast for 2020 was released on Jan. 23. According to that, a large area of Japan experienced higher temperatures than average between October 2019 and January 2020, which is believed to delay the blooming of cherry blossoms to some degree. Despite that, expected warm weather during February and March will probably make blooming dates slightly earlier than average. Flowers are predicted to bloom in Tokyo as soon as Mar. 18, followed shortly by those in Kyushu, Tokai, and Shikoku. Full bloom for Fukuoka is predicted for Mar. 31. The cherry blossom bloom front usually begins on the Pacific side of western Japan, and gradually makes its way up the country towards northern Japan. <\/p>\n
