Answering to the call from Fukuoka City, the cities of Kitakyushu, Sasebo (Nagasaki), Yatsushiro (Kumamoto), Beppu (Oita), Nichinan (Miyazaki) and Shimonoseki (Yamaguchi) will work hand-in-hand to promote tourism in the area. Cruise tourists usually arrive in large numbers and the cities they use face similar challenges including congestion. Know-how and systems will be shared amongst member cities to solve issues. Ports in Kyushu had seen a slight decrease in the number of cruisers in 2018. Source: Nikkei Shimbun, 1/30/2019

Photo provided by the City of Fukuoka

Disclaimer: Fukuoka Now posts summaries of Kyushu area related news for the benefit of those who cannot read Japanese.
