Announcements have been made by the prefectures of Kagoshima, Oita, Miyazaki, Kumamoto and Nagasaki this month, where the crop-eating insect have been discovered. <em>Spodoptera frugiperda<\/em> is said to fly for some hundred kilometers overnight in adulthood.
