The robotic wheelchair named Partner Mobility travels automatically while communicating with the user. Using a combination of camera, light sensor, ultrared system and more, it monitors its current location while detecting people and other obstacles that get in the way. A test was conducted at Fukuoka Airport on October 4 in which the machine smoothly maneuvered from the security screening gate to the boarding gate after learning a booking number from the seated person.
