Starting on April 1, 2020, the two cities and Fukuoka Prefecture will levy new taxes on guests who stay overnight at hotels, ryokan, and other accommodation facilities. Projected accommodation-tax income will be \u00a51.5 billion for Fukuoka Prefecture, \u00a51.8 billion for Fukuoka City, and \u00a5300 million for Kitakyushu City.
