The open-5G environment designed for smartphone users initially covers seven prefectures in Japan, including some parts of Hakata Ward and Chuo Ward in Fukuoka. Users of 5G-applicable smartphones will be able to use the fast network by signing up for a 5G option (\u00a51,000\/month.) NTT Docomo and KDDI are also expected to start similar services in the coming spring.
