A source revealed that the association is seeking plans with the reduced financial burden for the host city of Fukuoka, reflecting the unforeseen impact of the new coronavirus pandemic. The venue for swimming competitions of the Tokyo Olympics (Tokyo Aquatics Centre) has been named as a possible venue. It is also reported that the new date of the tournament will be set between May to June of 2022.
