Mountain huts traditionally are found at high altitudes to provide shelter for multiple climbers in a limited space. Therefore, it’s environment involves the three “Cs” (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings.) While the whole country moves to lift the state of emergency ahead of the arrival of the trekking season, those facilities are facing challenges of implementing proper prevention measures against the virus infection, including regular sanitation. In seven days from the launching of a crowdfunding project by Yamap staff members, more than ¥31 million have been donated to support these efforts.
