The farmers won a regional tea competition in May for their <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gyokuro<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Akio &amp; Akiko Kurihara) and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sencha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Tatsuya &amp; Keiko Higuchi) green teas. The long-running competition with a history of over fifty years saw a total of 235 entrants this year.
