Kumamoto Prefecture recorded 110~120 mm\/hr rainfall in Ashikita Town and Yatsushiro City, causing confirmed deaths of 20 persons. Sixteen more persons are in cardiopulmonary arrest, and 14 are missing. In the area, Self-Defence Forces have been dispatched to rescue people from marooned homes and facilities, including a special elderly care home in Kuma Village. Meanwhile, special torrential rain warnings were also issued in Kagoshima Prefecture, which registered record-breaking 94~99 mm\/hr rainfalls in the cities of Hioki and Satsumasendai. According to the Fukuoka Regional Headquarters of Japan Meteorological Agency, the active rain front will move to northern Kyushu between July 5 ~ 6 and stay there through July 7.
