Mec Industry (Kagoshima) was founded in January 2020 by Mitsubishi Estate and six other investors, including Takena Corporation. It sources high-quality lumber from the prefectures of Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima and processes them at its lumberyard in Kagoshima. By supplying high-quality domestic lumber at lower prices, the company aims to reactivate the local forestry business. Mec aims to achieve \u00a510 billion sales by 2032.
