A Kurume-residing manga artist, Ryunosuke Hiramoto, created a unique reusable bag (eco bag) to support people with hearing disabilities. The artist, who is listening impaired, faced difficulty handling otherwise simple communications at shop cashiers as the spread of the new coronavirus covered shop clerks\u2019 faces wearing masks. He came up with an idea of combining \u2018eco bag\u2019 and communication board and created illustrations to convey messages such as \u201cplease heat the food\u201d and \u201cI\u2019d like to use a point card.\u201d The bag (\u00a5800~\u00a51,000) could also be a useful tool for foreigners who have difficulty communicating in Japanese.
