The medical device calculates oxygen levels in the blood just by slipping it on a finger. The prefecture recently recorded its first death of a home-treatment patient and hopes this technology will prevent more occurrences by signaling patients to report to local health offices after experiencing a decline in the oxygen level. (The program is for residents of municipalities other than Fukuoka City, Kurume City, and Kitakyushu City.
