The city has been investigating the sites of the former Reisen Elementary School since 2018 and first discovered the masonry in 2019. The 60-centimeter high wall stretches about 70 meters. Researchers believe that the whole structure is part of international port facilities that supported trade between Japan and Song (a then-state in China.)
