The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN,) an advisory body for UNESCO, reported that woodlands in the northern part Okinawa\u2019s main island, Iriomote Island, Amami Oshima and Tokunoshima, are home to many rare species of animals, such as Amami rabbit and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">yanbaru kuina<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Okinawa rail,) and posses values to be registered as World Natural Heritage.
