The Fukuoka branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) needs the help of local blood and platelet donors. The latest anti-coronavirus measures have led to the closing of some large commercial facilities on weekends. That has reduced opportunities for people to visit its centers. Five blood donation centers listed below run as usual regardless of the closures of other facilities inside the same building (*Meanwhile, blood donations are needed especially on weekdays –\u00a0 Also, reservations are strongly recommended to avoid congestion.):<\/span><\/p>\n

More than a few blood drives (blood donation buses) are <\/span>scheduled<\/span><\/a> each day across the prefecture. JRCS\u00a0 seeks companies and organizations to host more blood drives, too. Details are available from <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

*Blood donation eligibility guidance for those who receive a COVID-19 vaccination is in effect as of May 14:<\/span><\/i>
\n– Those who receive RNA vaccine (including mRNA vaccine\/ *Pfizer-manufactured vaccine) must wait 48 hours before giving blood. Applicable for first and second injections.<\/span><\/i>
\n– Those who experience fever (37.5C or higher,) fatigue or muscle ache after taking any COVID-19 vaccine should wait until those symptoms are completely gone.<\/span><\/i>
\n– Those who suffer anaphylaxis after getting COVID-19 vaccine cannot give blood until one year after the full recovery from the symptoms.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
