A new technique to kill anisakis with electric current has been developed by a research team at Kumamoto University. In collaboration with the Fukuoka-based Japan Seafoods Co., Ltd., the university invented the first-in-the-world system to kill the parasitic worms in raw seafood without freezing. Their device could process 3 kilograms of horse mackerel in around six minutes. Japan Seafoods plans to use the system and sell <\/span>sashimi <\/span><\/i>fish on a trial basis in the fall of 2021<\/span>.
