The cells are called macrophages and help remove proteins that show abnormal aggression in the peripheral nerves of ALS patients. The discovery was introduced in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-021-96064-6\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientific Reports<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
