Fukuoka City and the Nippon Foundation established a partnership to develop Japan\u2019s first one-stop facility for mothers to prevent child abuse. Using \u00a5500 million funds from the foundation, Fukuoka City would turn \u2018nyujiin\u2019 (baby nurseries for those who cannot live\/stay with their parents) into a more open and comprehensive child-rearing support center, develop a new system to let children and their mothers stay with the fostering family, and take more initiatives in the next five years.
