Governor Hattori of Fukuoka Prefecture called the government’s relaxation of mask-wearing standards “very significant” on the morning of May 23. According to the “mask-wearing standards” announced by the government last week, it is not necessarily necessary to wear a mask outdoors if a distance of 2 meters or more can be obtained by running or other activities or if there is little conversation. It also means that the mask can be removed even indoors if a distance is maintained and there is little conversation. On the other hand, it is still recommended to wear it outdoors when talking at a close distance or commuting to work or school by public transportation.
