In Fukuoka Prefecture, the number of constituencies will remain the same, but the delineation between the 1st and 4th wards will be changed. Specifically, the Tatara 1 and Tatara 2 voting wards, Hatta voting ward, Aoba 1 voting ward, and Aoba 2 voting ward in Higashi ward, Fukuoka City, which are currently included in Fukuoka 1 ward, will be moved to the adjacent Fukuoka 4 ward. If enacted, the new district lines will be introduced after about one month of public awareness and are expected to be applied from the next House of Representatives election this summer. Source: NHK

Get Fukuoka & Kyushu area news and events in English regularly. Sign up for our free weekly newsletter.
