Large and extremely strong Typhoon No. 11 is moving northward over the East China Sea and is expected to approach northern Kyushu from this evening through tomorrow. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) is advising people to be on high alert for storms and high waves in all areas of Kyushu. The typhoon will then move northeastward across the East China Sea and is likely to approach northern Kyushu from dawn to dawn tomorrow. It is expected to enter the storm zone with wind speeds of 25 meters or higher around the beginning of tonight. Iki, Tsushima, and Goto in Nagasaki Prefecture are expected to be hit by fierce winds that may cause injuries from flying debris or overturn trucks. Please refrain from going out unnecessarily and stay away from windows when indoors.<\/span><\/p>\n

The maximum wind speeds expected today are 30 meters over the West Sea of Kyushu, 25 meters over the Tsushima Strait and land in northern Kyushu and Kagoshima Prefecture, and 45 meters over the West Sea of Kyushu.
