According to the Immigration Bureau, the school was removed from registration as a Japanese language school in Minami Ward, Fukuoka City. According to the Immigration Bureau, in October last year, a Vietnamese student in his 20s who had requested to transfer to the school was detained for several hours by a male employee who tied his belt with a metal chain and padlock. The school claims that it was a prank by the staff member and admits that it was a violation of human rights. The school will not be able to accept new international students for the next five years, and the Immigration Bureau has decided to encourage the approximately 630 international students currently enrolled to change schools. Source: RKB

Get Fukuoka & Kyushu area news and events in English regularly. Sign up for our free weekly newsletter.
