It was attended by about 300 people from nearby businesses and residents. This activity is organized by the Hakata Machizukuri Promotion Council on the morning of the third Thursday of every month to make the area around Hakata Station a pleasant street space to walk. Participants picked up empty cans, cigarette butts, and other debris from plantings and ditches to help beautify the town. The Hakata Machizukuri Promotion Council conducts trash pickups and removes graffiti from the surrounding area before the Golden Week and New Year’s holidays. Source: RKB

Photo from Hakata Machizukuri Promotion official Instagram

Get Fukuoka & Kyushu area news and events in English regularly. Sign up for our free weekly newsletter.
