According to JR Kyushu, yesterday morning, several municipalities along the West Kyushu Shinkansen line received an e-mail stating that a bomb had been planted at several facilities on the West Kyushu Shinkansen line at 3:34 p.m. As a result, JR Kyushu suspended operations on all lines of the Western Kyushu Shinkansen from around 3:00 p.m. and asked passengers at stations along the line to avoid the line. At JR Nagasaki Station, uniformed police officers were on the scene to warn passengers, and passengers were seen asking JR staff at the ticket gates about the situation. JR Kyushu resumed operation after 4:00 p.m. after inspecting the Shinkansen cars and stations to ensure safety, but two trains on the upper and lower lines were suspended, affecting passengers.
