The suspect, Atsushi Hanai, 38, wasn&#8217;t just after a quick tipple \u2013 we&#8217;re talking a total of 130 million yen worth of liquid gold. Hanai, in a display of criminal nonchalance, was caught bagging up bottles of prized Yamazaki and Hibiki whiskeys. He then converted his boozy loot to cash at pawn shops, capitalizing on the soaring demand for Japanese whiskey. The snack bar&#8217;s owner had a hunch about Hanai and installed the security cameras to keep an eye on him. After noticing the missing spirits, the owner filed a police report, and Hanai was soon apprehended.
