The police stated that on March 30, Kim allegedly tried to secretly bring roughly 2 kilograms of gold bars (valued at approximately 17 million yen) from South Korea&#8217;s Incheon International Airport to Japan&#8217;s Fukuoka Airport by securing them around his waist. Kim reportedly confessed to the charges, claiming he believed he could fetch a better price for the gold in Japan. This incident marks the first instance of gold smuggling detected at Fukuoka Airport since 2019, after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
