Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) and PRO Corporation are launching an industry-first project utilizing Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The project, named ‘JR Kyushu NFT’, will operate its own sales website and offer attractive NFT content. Additionally, it will distribute NFTs as a ‘memento’ or ‘proof’ for activities such as visiting, riding, and using the railway. This initiative aims to build new relationships with customers while suggesting new ways to enjoy Kyushu.<\/span><\/p>\n

The NFTs are not just content for collection and trading but are also being considered as a reward for using stations, trains, buses, and other facilities. Depending on the type and quantity of NFTs owned, new NFT gifts and services will also be available. The JR Kyushu NFT project is being designed to build new relationships with customers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ‘JR Kyushu NFT’ sales site will handle NFT transactions, accepting payments in yen rather than cryptocurrency. NFT content can be acquired through the use of stations, trains, buses, and related facilities. Depending on the NFT content owned, exclusive NFTs and services can be obtained. The NFT collections will be accessible through a wallet linked to the sales site.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project is set to begin in July 2023. The details and timings for the sale and distribution of NFTs will be announced later.
