For the first time in four years, a memorial service was held in Fukuoka City to honor those who lost their lives during the war.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The joint memorial service, organized by the Fukuoka City Government and the Fukuoka City Social Welfare Council, was held to express condolences to the 12,131 citizens who perished during the war, including those in the Fukuoka Air Raid. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, only a scaled-down flower-offering ceremony had been held in recent years.
