If approved by the Prefectural Assembly on July 4th, Baba will begin her four-year term on July 7th, making history as the first female Deputy Governor of Nagasaki. Governor Kengo Oishi stressed the importance of incorporating women&#8217;s perspectives in government during the announcement.
