The temperature soared across the region on the 3rd, bringing severe heat throughout the area. The city of Dazaifu experienced the highest recorded temperature in the prefecture this year at 38.6 degrees Celsius. This intense heatwave is expected to continue through the 4th, and precautions against heatstroke are urged.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the 3rd, a vast part of the prefecture experienced extreme heat exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. The highest daytime temperature in Dazaifu hit a record high of 38.6 degrees, making it the hottest in the prefecture this year. Other areas also experienced record-breaking temperatures with Asakura reaching 38.3 degrees and Kurume 38.2 degrees. Seven measurement points across the prefecture marked their highest temperatures this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The severe heat is forecasted to continue into the 4th, with expected highs of 38 degrees in Kurume, 37 degrees in Fukuoka city, and 35 degrees in the Yahatanishi Ward of Kitakyushu city and Iizuka city. The Meteorological Agency and the Ministry of Environment have issued a “heatstroke alert” for the prefecture on the 4th, as the risk of heatstroke is extremely high. It’s advised to avoid going outdoors as much as possible, use air conditioning appropriately, and ensure regular hydration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the atmospheric conditions became very unstable, leading to the development of rain clouds. The Fukuoka Airport recorded heavy rainfall of 20.5 millimeters within an hour until 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, a large and very strong Typhoon No. 6 is progressing over the seas north-northwest of Miyakojima. The typhoon is expected to turn eastward with a strong force between the 4th and 6th.
