The 22-year-old driver reportedly mistook the accelerator for the brake. The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at a store in Kanenokuma, where the van overran the parking stop and broke through the glass front, entering the store. At the time, four employees and several customers were present, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The driver, a company employee, told the police he was attempting to park at the convenience store when he confused the pedals.
