The city, known for its rich waterside environments attracting ducks, has a long history of duck cuisine dating back to the Edo period. The event featured innovative dishes developed by young chefs across Japan, such as “Kamo Tataki with Chili Black Vinegar Sauce,” “Smoked Magamo and Strawberries from Ogori,” and “Komatsuna and Kamo Miso Omelette.” Mayor Kaji expressed hopes that these culinary additions would enhance Ogori City’s food culture and attract visitors to experience kamo cuisine at various local eateries. To further promote these delicacies, Ogori City plans to distribute a recipe booklet in tourist spots, aiming to spread the word about its unique duck dishes. Source: Ogori City official X / NHK

Photo from Ogori City official X

Stay informed with the latest Fukuoka & Kyushu news and events in English.
