Six elementary schools are piloting this program, which includes composting food waste. On June 6, fourth graders at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teriha <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elementary School mixed carrot peels from lunch preparation with rice husks in a compost bag. This composting process is expected to produce fertilizer in about a month, which will be used in the school&#8217;s flowerbeds.
